Location
We booked a private room and our bathroom was incredibly dirty and disgusting. The room smelled and was very dirty (including the bed). We changed hostels after the first night.

It was filthy and smelled of stale odour and cannabis. Kitchen was dirty, room was drab, and in poor condition. Afraid to use toilet, shower and kitchen. Couldnt wait to leave. Would have gone elsewhere if I had extra cash. Rat was outside door, then saw cockroach walk under till. No bla nkets or pillows on bed, place nothing like picture on website.

For this price, you can have better option out there, example Formula1 Hotel.
Reception area is small & full of baby cockroach. No 24hr reception, you have to waste $$ call them for late check in, no ring a bell although they are up stair. Terrible breakfast, just bread and jam (that look so unhygienic) Bathroom, its situated on 1st floor only, you have to travel up & down No luggage storage facilities, you have to go to laundry store few shop lot away, pay $$ of course and the laundry closed 5pm, so u must get your luggage before that. No free WIFI, everything in AUS is about $$.

We stayed in a hostel that was conveniently located near the central station and CBD. the friendly staff made our stay pleasant and the terrace with art and graffiti added a unique touch. We enjoyed the free pizza night and pancakes on the weekends.
The lack of cleanliness in the hostel. the rooms had musty odors and we encountered cockroaches.

It was within five minutes walk of my conference venue
The kitchen facilities were very poor and the cleaniless in the kitchen was terrible. There were no breakfast bowls or fork to be able to use. The fan in the room was in a poor position so that in order to get some air I had to keep the window open which meant there was a lot of noise form the back verandah. I will not be staying there again. Considering it cost $750 for a week it was definately not value for money.
